NFL Legend Tom Brady Names WWE Goat

One of the most common arguments in all of sports is who is the greatest of all time (GOAT) in their particular field.

More often than not, the debate is pretty cut and dry. In basketball, it typically comes down to Michael Jordan or LeBron James. In boxing, you could argue between Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. And in football, most people would say Tom Brady.

In professional wrestling, the argument gets a bit muddied since it’s scripted, and fans all have different opinions on what they want.

Genuinely, arguments can be made for countless wrestlers being the GOAT, including Ric Flair, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bruno Sammartino, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and so many more.

Now, Brady has given his GOAT opinion on who is the greatest professional wrestler in WWE history. And the answer isn’t necessarily that surprising.

During an appearance on ‘Impaulsive with Logan Paul,’ Brady was asked who he thought was the GOAT in WWE. Without any explanation, Brady already had a name ready:

“Hulk Hogan.”

Hogan is certainly a safe answer. For the 80s and 90s, he was easily the biggest star in sports entertainment. He has also taken home the WWE Championship six times, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship six times, won the Royal Rumble twice, and has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice.

That being said, opinion has certainly soured on the Hulkster in recent years, with multiple actions outside the ring leading to condemnation from fans and wrestlers alike.

Additionally, it depends on what metric you are measuring greatness. If it’s drawing power or ability to make money, Hogan is easily the right answer. But so is John Cena and Steve Austin.

However, if you want to look at technical ability, it’s hard to look past Bryan Danielson, Bret Hart, or Kurt Angle.

Then there’s the best wrestler on the mic, which could easily go to The Rock, CM Punk, or Roddy Piper.

In the end, there are dozens of WWE Superstars you could argue are the best in the history of the company. It just depends on what you prefer from the sport.
