The building affected was South Beach Condos III at 1460 Gulf Blvd, Clearwater Police Department said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
“All of the residents have been evacuated as personnel evaluate the structure of the building after cracks were found in a pillar,” police said.
Chris Latvala, Pinellas County Commissioner, posted to X that there was “a support beam splitting”.
Clearwater Fire Division Chief Jevon Graham told WFLA that around 60 residents were displaced, and the work to stabilize the structure could take all night.
