Woman Sees Friends for First Time in 7 Months, Then Reveals Her Big Secret

A group of friends catching up over dinner were left stunned when their friend showed up with a months-old surprise.

The group of people presumed their friend had just been “busy” during her recent absence, but they were left speechless when she revealed the real reason: she was seven months pregnant. The heartwarming surprise reveal was captured on TikTok, receiving over one million likes. Charissa Mae Pasumbal, 22, told Newsweek about her journey of keeping her pregnancy a secret and what it was like to finally make the big reveal.

The video shows Pasumbal walking up to a restaurant table and revealing her prominent baby bump to her friends, whose jaws dropped in unison amidst gasps. “My girls thought I was just busy, turns out I’m seven months into motherhood,” Pasumbal captioned the video.

She explained to Newsweek the circumstances behind the seven-month secret, which began with a move back home to her province in the Philippines after studying in Manila.

“After graduating, I moved…away from my college friends in Manila—mainly because I already knew I was pregnant,” she said. Keeping the news quiet required some effort during occasional visits: “I’d visit them from time to time, but I’d wear oversized clothes to hide the bump. Looking back, it’s actually kind of funny.”

Opting for a grand reveal rather than individual announcements felt right for their group dynamic and her current situation.

“We’re a tight-knit group of friends, and I really wanted to see their iconic reactions all at once,” Pasumbal said. “Since I’ve been busy preparing for motherhood, I didn’t have the time or energy to tell them one by one. I figured a surprise would be more memorable—and it definitely was.”

The video perfectly captured the success of her plan. For Pasumbal, her friends’ genuine shock and subsequent joy were exactly what she had hoped for.

“I was so happy with how everything went,” she said. “Their reactions were priceless, and it’s a moment I’ll truly treasure forever.”

The viral video resonated with viewers, many charmed by the friends’ authentic reactions and Pasumbal’s successful secret-keeping.

Some commenters shared stories of similar big reveals. “My friend did this, we show up to her wedding and she walks down the aisle with a bump, 12 hours later gives birth to her little miracle baby,” one person wrote.

Others noted the difficulty of keeping such significant news hidden from close friends. “My friends are too nosy for me to do this,” one commenter wrote.

Pasumbal acknowledged the difficulties of her journey while expressing gratitude for her unwavering support system.

“Being pregnant at a young age hasn’t been easy, but having supportive, non-judgmental friends makes a huge difference,” she said. “I feel so lucky that I can openly share this journey with them—and with my husband, who’s been with me for 10 years now.”

Now, with the secret joyfully revealed, Pasumbal has a gender reveal party on the horizon—and this time, she’s not keeping her friends in suspense for very long.
