The Trump Administration must facilitate the return of a 20-year-old Venezuelan man wrongly deported to El Salvador, a Maryland federal judge said.
U.S. District Judge Stephanie Gallagher, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, issued the order on Wednesday.
The man’s deportation was in violation of a previous court settlement, and Gallagher ordered the Trump Administration not to remove from the U.S. other individuals also covered by it.
Gallagher said that facilitating the man’s return means the administration “making a good faith request to the government of El Salvador” so that he is released “to U.S. custody for transport back to the United States to await the adjudication of his asylum application on the merits by USCIS,” ABC News reported.
This is a developing story and more information will be added shortly.
